Photography Terms & Conditions

Hey! Before booking ValonEdit, please take a few minutes to read through these terms. They’re here so that we both know exactly what to expect from each other.

By booking ValonEdit, you confirm that you’ve read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

✦ Before You Book — Please Read This

My style is not traditional. And that's kind of the point.

ValonEdit is all about candid, cinematic, nostalgic and genuine photography.

I want to capture the moments that actually happen — the laughs, the tears, the chaos, the little glances, the people you love and all the bits in between.

I will guide you when needed, particularly for group photographs and portraits, but I don't want your day to feel like one long photoshoot.

My editing style is part of my work too.

My images have a cinematic, vintage-inspired look, which can include grain, contrast, muted tones, atmospheric edits and creative colour grading.

Please look through my portfolio, website and social media before enquiring.

If you don't like the style you see in my existing work, ValonEdit probably isn't the right photographer for you — and that's completely okay.

By booking, you confirm that you've seen and are happy with my existing photographic and editing style.

I won't completely change my editing style to match another photographer's work.

1. Booking & Payment

Your date isn't secured until the required payment has been received.

Wedding Packages

222 — £2002 hours • £200 paid in full at booking

555 — £5005 hours • £50 deposit

888 — £800Up to 8 hours • £80 deposit

For packages requiring a deposit, the remaining balance is due 4 weeks before your event.

Micro packages must be paid in full when booking.

If your final payment isn't received by the deadline, your booking may be cancelled and the date may be released.

Events

Event photography starts from £200, with the final price depending on the type and requirements of the event.

Your agreed package and payment schedule will always be confirmed before booking.

2. What You Can Expect From Your Photos

I'm primarily a candid photographer.

I'll be looking for the moments that happen naturally rather than directing every second of your day.

Because of this, I can't guarantee that every specific moment, person or photograph will be captured unless we've discussed and agreed it beforehand.

For group photographs, I'll help organise and position people, but it's ultimately the Client's responsibility to make sure the right people are available when needed.

Things happen at weddings and events — people disappear, timings change and moments happen unexpectedly. I'll always do my best to capture what's important, but photography can never guarantee every single photograph.

3. Editing & Re-Edits

Every gallery is edited in the established ValonEdit style.

This can include:

Cinematic colour

Vintage-inspired tones

Grain

Contrast

Moody and atmospheric edits

Creative crops

Black & white images

Your gallery is edited as a complete body of work so that the images feel consistent together.

Re-edits

Every package includes up to 10 reasonable re-edits.

Re-edits must still fit within the ValonEdit style. Requests to completely change the look of the photographs or replicate another photographer's editing style aren't included.

Re-edit requests should be made within 2 weeks of receiving your gallery.

4. Changes to Your Booking

Please let me know about any significant changes to your:

Date

Venue

Location

Start or finish time

Schedule

Other circumstances that may affect your booking

Where possible, changes should be communicated at least 1 month before your event.

If your new date or arrangements aren't possible for ValonEdit, I can't guarantee that I will be able to continue with the booking.

5. Your Images

You'll receive your final images as high-resolution JPEG files.

RAW files are not provided.

Copyright & personal use

ValonEdit retains copyright in the photographs.

You are welcome to download, print and share your final images for personal use.

Please don't sell the images, use them commercially, materially alter them or pass them on for commercial use without permission.

Sharing

If your venue, suppliers or other businesses would like to use your photographs, please ask them to contact ValonEdit and provide appropriate credit.

6. Using Your Photographs

I love being able to share my work, so ValonEdit may use photographs from your booking for:

Website

Portfolio

Instagram

Facebook

TikTok

Advertising

Promotional material

Photography competitions and awards

If you have specific privacy requirements, please discuss this with me before booking.

7. Content Creation

If you've booked content creation alongside your photography, the agreed deliverables will be confirmed before your booking.

Content may include:

Reels

Short-form videos

Behind-the-scenes content

Longer-form videos

Content is created and edited in the ValonEdit style.

I may use software and platforms including CapCut, Splice, TikTok and DJI software when creating your content.

Creative decisions such as music, transitions, effects, colour grading, cropping and formatting are made at my discretion.

Where a specific number or length of videos has been agreed, that agreement will take priority.

8. Travel

Travel charges may apply depending on where your event is taking place.

Where applicable, travel will be calculated using AA mileage rates based on the distance from my location.

Travel costs will be capped at £50, unless a different amount has been agreed with you beforehand.

Any applicable travel charge will be included on your final invoice.

9. When You'll Receive Your Photos

Your final edited gallery will be delivered within 3 weeks of your event.

Your gallery will normally be delivered through a private online gallery.

Please don't forget to download them!

Wedding galleries remain available for 90 days after delivery.

After this period, the gallery will expire.

You're responsible for downloading and safely backing up your images during this time.

10. Food & Breaks

For full-day bookings, if meals are being provided to guests or suppliers, I'd appreciate a suitable meal being provided for me too, unless we've agreed otherwise beforehand.

For longer bookings, I'll occasionally need short breaks to eat, drink and reset.

I'll always manage these breaks sensibly and with as little impact on your coverage as possible.

11. Cancelling or Postponing Your Booking

When you book ValonEdit, your date is reserved specifically for you and I may turn away other enquiries for the same date.

If you cancel your booking, your deposit will normally be retained.

Where additional payments have already been made, any refund will be considered based on the circumstances, work already completed, costs incurred and any loss suffered as a result of the cancellation.

A change of mind, relationship breakdown or personal circumstances does not automatically entitle you to a full refund.

Postponements

If you need to move your wedding or event, I'll always do my best to move your booking to the new date.

This is subject to my availability.

If I'm unavailable on the new date, the cancellation terms above will apply.

12. If Something Happens to Me

As much as I plan and prepare, sometimes things happen that are completely outside my control.

If I'm unable to photograph your event because of serious illness, injury, accident, emergency or another circumstance outside my reasonable control, I'll do everything I reasonably can to find a suitable replacement photographer.

If a replacement can't be arranged, I'll refund payments relating to services that haven't been provided, subject to the circumstances and any applicable legal rights.

I'll always communicate with you as soon as reasonably possible.

13. Equipment & Technical Problems

I use professional equipment and take reasonable precautions to protect your photographs.

However, photography involves technology and, unfortunately, equipment can occasionally fail.

If something goes wrong, I'll take reasonable steps to minimise the impact and recover or protect your images wherever possible.

14. Your Responsibilities

You're responsible for giving me accurate information about your event, including the correct date, venue and timings.

I'm not responsible for photographs that can't be taken because of things outside my reasonable control, including:

Venue restrictions

Registrar or celebrant restrictions

Weather

Guest behaviour

Delays

Lack of access

Guests not being available

Restrictions on photography

I'll always do my best to work around these situations.

You're confirming that:
